Lori Boles-Jones is a 30-year educator with a passion for STEM education and a proven track record of success. An alumna of Bethune-Cookman University, she also holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University and has served in a variety of roles, including teacher, math coach, and assistant principal. What is more, her extensive experience in Title I schools gives her a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by underprivileged students.
Lori's passion for STEM education is evident in her extensive experience teaching and coaching math, as well as her time serving as an Assistant Principal at two schools serving the Pleasant City Community. Just as importantly, she is uniquely qualified to build and lead this new school because of her deep understanding of the needs of students from underserved areas, and her commitment to equity and excellence in education.
At Northboro Montessori School, Lori served as a Math Coach for 6 years. During that time, she helped to develop and implement a new math curriculum that was aligned with state standards and focused on hands-on learning. She also worked closely with teachers to provide them with the resources and support they needed to be successful in the classroom.
At Pleasant City Elementary School (PCES), Lori was an Assistant Principal for 4 years. In this role, she was responsible for overseeing the school's instructional program and supporting teachers in their professional development. During her exceptional tenure at PCES, Lori helped lead the institution to its largest academic gains in recent memory; lifting the school’s overall grade from an “F” to an “A”-- in no small part to her stellar leadership.
Lori's experience as an Assistant Principal at Roosevelt Middle School, the feeder middle school for Pleasant City Elementary School, will be invaluable as she launches Tiny Footsteps, as she has a deep understanding of the needs of students as they transition from elementary to middle school, and she is committed to ensuring that all students are prepared for success.
Lori Boles-Jones is, unquestionably, the right person to build and lead Tiny Footsteps STEM Academy--for such a time as this. Not only does she have the experience, the skills, and the passion to help students succeed in STEM, she is truly dedicated to providing ALL children in and around the Pleasant City neighborhood, with a high-quality education that will prepare them for success in college and in the workforce.
